Microsoft releases new Surface Go ad comparing iPad to a toy

Microsoft is targeting the Apple iPad in its newest ad for the Microsoft Surface Go, in a holiday-themed 30-second video where a 10-year-old girl sings a “remix” of the classic Elmo & Patsy Christmas song “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.”

In the video, the little girl’s pleas for a Surface Go over an iPad. Saying Apple's product would have suited her better when she was six. At ten she is looking for a “real computer” capable of fulfilling her “big dreams”, including doing “some coding.”

The Microsoft Surface Go is the company's cheapest Surface tablet featuring a 10-inch PixelSense display with an 1800 x 1200 pixel resolution, 64GB of internal storage (up to 256GB), an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera and is powered by an Intel Pentium Gold Processor with up to 8GB of RAM.

Microsoft has gone after the iPad several times in the past, wanting to prove that their offering is far superior to Apple's tablet. Meanwhile, Apple's ads suggest that future generations won't even know what a computer is once they start using the iPad Pro.
