Google Maps for iOS update brings 'For You' tab with custom recommendations

Today Google announced that it will be adding the 'For You' tab on Google Maps for iOS in over 40 countries, while the Android version will offer it in over 130 countries. This functionality was first introduced to Android users earlier this year with iOS receiving the update now.

As stated by Google, the "For You tab is designed to be a constant source of inspiration tailored to your tastes and preferences." When you follow the places you are interested in, you will receive recommendations and the latest news about what is going on in those neighborhoods you select. You'll be notified about a new menu item being added to a particular eatery, the opening of a new pop up store in that market, and restaurant recommendations based on your favorite foods.

Whether you travel often for business or pleasure, or love to frequent restaurants in your neighborhood, the Google Maps' For You tab will have you covered. 'For You' will evolve based on your personal recommendations, as you continue tapping on the 'Not interested', 'Already been' or 'Want to go' options on each recommendation.
