Xiaomi-backed Huami is a fairly new tech company which sells ultra-affordable activity trackers and smartwatches under the Amazfit brand. Its popularity has steadily grown in the Western and Eastern Hemisphere boasting an impressive 18.1 million wearable device shipments around the world in 2017. The company's newest product, the is now available for pre-order in the US for $159.99 with shipments set to begin on December 18.

The Amazefit Verge is packed with features which include built-in GPS+GLONASS functionality, an optical heart rate monitor, NFC support for wrist payments, ability to answer calls on your wrist over Bluetooth, activity tracking, app notification and up to 5 days of battery life.

This “fine-looking smartwatch for the fashion-conscious fitness enthusiast” comes with a "bright" 1.3-inch AMOLED display and features Voice assistance technology with smart home integration, with Amazon Alexa support coming at the end of the year, according to a report from The Verge. This report also suggests that the Amazefit Verge runs a proprietary OS which may mean a smaller collection of available apps.
