Samsung Galaxy S8 Active on T-Mobile receives RCS Universal Profile 1.0 support

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active on T-Mobile is receiving a software update that brings RCS Universal Profile 1.0 support to the device. What this does is to allow users to send files up to 100MB in size over messaging.

Additionally, the update should also improve the native messaging app when you chat with contacts who also own phones that support RCS Universal Profile.

The update is reportedly around 420MB in size and includes the October Android security patch along with RCS Universal Profile 1.0 support. The changelog also mentions some improvements to performance, as well as device stability enhancements and bug fixes.

T-Mobile has already rolled out the RCS Universal Profile update to the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge in June and more recently for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ making this the fifth Samsung on the carrier to receive the update.
