OnePlus 6 receives OxygenOS 9.0.2 update with camera improvements, new gestures and more

Its been a busy week for OnePlus with the release of their OnePlus 6T, followed by the first software update for their new flagship smartphone. Now it looks like their slightly older is also receiving an update in the form of OxygenOS 9.0.2.

Among the improvements, new software update includes Nightscape and Studio Lighting - two camera features that debuted on the OnePlus 6T.

OxygenOS 9.0.2 - Changelog:

  • Improved UI for About phone
  • Optimized standby power consumption
  • Updated Android security patch to 2018.11
  • Added support to launch Google Assistant or other third party assistant app by holding the power button for 0.5 seconds
  • General bug fixes and improvements

  • Added Nightscape
  • Added Studio Lighting to enhance face contour

OnePlus has stated that the update will be rolled out in stages, starting with a limited number of users yesterday (November 1) and then gradually out to more users in the coming days if the update goes through without any issues.

Once you do receive an update notification, remember to make sure your device is fully charged and that you are connected to a strong Wi-Fi connection before installing the update.
