Motorola One Power receives Android Pie software update

The Motorola One Power is now receiving the Android 9 Pie software update. This makes the One Power the first Motorola handset to be upgraded to the latest version of Android. According to a report from 91 mobiles, the update is currently rolling out to customers in India.

The Motorola One Power is the larger sibling of the Motorola One, which recently became available in the U.S. through Best Buy. Both handsets belong to the Android One family, which means they offer a near stock Android experience allowing manufacturers to release quick updates.

The Motorola One Power features a 6.2-inch display, 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, dual (16MP+5MP) rear cameras, a 12-megapixel front camera, a fingerprint scanner, a 5000mAh battery and a Snapdragon 636 chipset with 4GB of RAM.

With the release of Android Pie for the One Power, it shouldn't be long before the Motorola One is also updated to the latest Android treat. It is a shame, that Motorola which was once known for offering lightning fast updates, hasn't kept that pace since its transition to Lenovo.

With Android 9 Pie, the Motorola One Power will gain features like its new gesture-based navigation, various battery specific improvements, camera tweaks, Wind Down and an updated Do Not Disturb, improved volume controls and more. The update will be pushed out to handsets over-the-air, and you will get a notification when it is available for your device. At this point, you can download and install the update, after making sure your battery is fully charged and that you are connected to Wi-Fi.
