Motorola Moto X4 receives Android Pie software update

The Motorola Moto X4 is now receiving the Android 9.0 Pie software update. The company first offered an Android Pie soak test to beta testers in November, and due to its likely success have started rolling out the final version of the update to users in Brazil according to XDA Developers.

With Android Pie the Moto X4 will find a new Intuitive Navigation and Recent App, an improved Do Not Disturb mode and a colorful settings menu, to anticipated longer battery life and revamped split screen. Android Pie also brings a redesigned Quick Settings, simplified volume controls, an easier way to manage notifications and more. The update will also include Google's November security patch for Android.

The Moto X4 which was released a little over a year ago features a 5.2-inch display, 32GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a 16-megapixel front camera a 3000mAh battery and a Snapdragon 630 chipset with 3GB of RAM.

After being released with Android 7.1 Nougat, the handset has since been updated to Android 8 Oreo and now Android 9 Pie. With two major updates under its belt, we can't help but wonder if this handset will see yet another version of Android in 2019 before it is retired.
