Microsoft details new features coming to Office and OneDrive apps in November

Earlier this week, Microsoft detailed some of the new features coming to the Office and OneDrive mobile apps on iOS and Android. While many of the improvements will be available on both systems, some will be unique to iOS while others to Android.

On the Microsoft Office side of things, the Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps on iOS and Android will now use a common sharing dialog. This will make it easier users on both mobile platforms to share documents with friends an colleagues.

Microsoft OneDrive on iOS and Android will receive a new Mobile Capture feature, which allows users to scan documents, whiteboards or images quickly and efficiently and store it on the OneDrive cloud. This function also allows users to add custom metadata to the scans they capture. Both the image and metadata will be added to the selected library at the same time.

Additionally, OneDrive users will receive a prompt to share a scan with members attending a meeting under a specific project. This note sharing feature uses Microsoft Graph, which connects files, scans, meetings, and others together. This meeting prompts should be available on OneDrive for iOS and Android starting this month.
