Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet 10.1-inch announced for only $130

Barnes & Noble is looking to make a return to the tablet market with the release of their new NOOK Tablet 10.1-inch. As the world's largest retail bookseller, it made sense for Barnes & Noble to compete in the digital reader category, but the company somehow couldn't quite keep up with Amazon's offerings.

Their demise in the digital device market could also have had something to do with the privacy controversy the company faced a few years ago. Now having given the public some time to move past it, they are once again ready to make an offering "just in time for (the) holidays".

The tablet is primarily aimed at customers who enjoy digital reading, with access to Barnes & Noble's vast library of eBooks. However, this time around you also gets full access to the Google Play Store, which sets this tablet apart from what Amazon has to offer.

You can pre-order the NOOK Tablet 10.1 from Barnes & Noble starting today and it will be released on November 14. However, we'd advise customers to hold off until November 22, when the company plans to offer the tablet as just $119.99 until December 26th.
