Samsung Galaxy J3 Eclipse for Verizon receives Android Oreo update

The Samsung Galaxy J3 Eclipse for Verizon is now receiving the Android Oreo software update. Verizon has just updated the support page for both smartphones with Android Oreo changelogs and some tips for those who own them.

Besides the usual new features and improvements from Android Oreo, the update brings a handful of changes from Verizon. The update also includes the September security patch for Android

Apps like NFL, Slacker Radio, and VZ Navigator will be removed after the update, but can still be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Additionally, the S Health and SmartThings (Samsung Connect) apps have been changed to stubs, which you can click if you want to download the full app.

If you are using these apps, and have kept them updated on the Google Play Store, you wouldn't notice any change until you perform a factory reset on your device.

The update also addresses an issue with the Galaxy Apps icon which was not properly shown in the Samsung folder.
