Nubia X announced with dual screen and dual fingerprint sensor

ZTE offshoot Nubia has a different kind of smartphone exclusively for China known as the Nubia X, which takes a unique approach to capture selfies. Instead of having cameras on the front and back, it offers a secondary display on the rear of the device.

On the front, you have the 6.1-inch primary display with a 2280 x 1080 pixel resolution. The handset has a 19:9 aspect ratio with the display taking up most of the front with an impressive 93.6 percent screen-to-body ratio.

On the rear, you have a 5.1-inch secondary panel with a 1520 x 720 pixel resolution. This display can be used for "HD selfies", well as wallpapers, custom signatures, "dynamic" pictures, and even various advanced controls for high-quality gaming experiences.

Since you would be using the device is both modes, Nubia has also included not one, but two side-mounted fingerprint sensors for convenient right and left-handed unlocking.

The manufacturer has packed in a 3800mAh battery, which they feel is adequate to balance both displays. Nubia uses its proprietary technologies like NeoPower 3.0 "Smart Freeze" and states that the device delivers "reassuring" endurance times.

In terms of hardware, you get the best a 2018 Android flagship could offer with dual (16MP+24MP) rear cameras, up to 256GB of internal storage and Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB of RAM. On the software side, you get a heavily customized version of Android 8.1 Oreo.

As a China exclusive device, you can purchase the Nubia X with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM for 3299 yuan (around $475). The high-end model with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM will be priced at 4299 yuan (around $615). Both prices sound extremely reasonable in a western mobile landscape dominated by $1000 smartphones.
