CVS now supports Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay in nationwide pharmacies

CVS will now customers to use Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay in its pharmacies across the United States. This is a great victory for both the payment providers and the customers.

The pharmacy store chain in the past was a part of a consortium of major retailers who opposed mobile payment technology. Instead this group of retailers developed their own payment network using the now defunct platform called CurrentC which was designed to one day allow you to pay without using your credit card. CVS even discouraged customers from using mobile payments by disabling the NFC chip on its early payment terminals.

At the end of the day, its good to see the pharmacy chain do what is best for its customers, who will at the end of the day be the ones who benefit the most from this decision.
