Google schedules Pixel event for October 9

Google has scheduled an event for October 9th and is sending out invites to the press. The event is expected to be for the official unveiling of the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL smartphones.

The invite doesn't reveal much, besides the "I <3 NY" text, subtly hinting at the number 3 hidden within the heart emoji. While Google's main focus would be on their next generation of smartphones, we wont be surprised if the company uses the event to unveil more Pixel hardware and accessories.

Google first introduced the Pixel brand back in 2016, and this upcoming release would mark the third generation of Pixel devices. Both devices are expected to receive design tweaks which include wireless charging and dual front cameras, while recent leaks indicate that the Pixel 3 XL will adopt the somewhat controversial notch.

Google may also use this opportunity to unveil other Pixel branded products like they did last year. We could get to see a new Pixelbook or new hardware in the Google Home family. We may also see Google unveil a Pixel branded smartwatch.
