Apple watchOS 5.0.1 released

Apple watchOS 5.0.1 released

Apple has released the watchOS 5.0.1 update for the Apple Watch. The new version comes just ten days after watchOS 5.0 was publicly released. Those who wish to update their Apple Watch can download the update by heading to General > Software Update in the Watch app on iPhone.

According to the release notes, the 5.0.1 update to watchOS aims to fix bugs, including an issue that may have caused a number of users to see increased exercise minutes. Other bugs Apple identified in this fix include one that caused users to not receive their stand credit during the afternoons, and another that prevented the Apple Watch from charging. While this update does not bring any significant new features, its recommended that all users install this update.

Before installing the update, it is recommended that you ensure your battery on your Apple Watch is charged to at least 50%, and that you have it on the charger if possible. Since the iPhone is used to install the update, you will have to make sure that your phone is within Bluetooth range of your Apple Watch.

Apple is also working on the next iteration of watch OS 5.1 which is currently being tested in beta form by developers. With the commitment to remove bugs and give users a great end experience, Apple is ensuring that they stay focussed on offering a great experience for Apple Watch owners.
