Apple releases watchOS 5 and tvOS 12 Golden Master (GM) builds

Apple has released the Golden Master (GM) builds for tvOS 12 and watchOS 5, along with iOS 12 GM and macOS 10.14 Mojave Beta 11. This release follows the unveiling of Apple Watch Series 4 which will come with the watchOS 5 pre-installed.

Apple's watchOS 5 is all about being more active and new ways to encourage that directly from Apple Watch. The updated watch OS will offer Activity Competitions with an improved Workout functionality. Apple is also porting the Podcasts app across to Apple Watch as well as introducing Walkie Talkie functionality. You also get a smarter Siri assistant and improved notifications to wrap up what looks like a powerful update for watchOS.

While the updates to tvOS may feel minimal when compared to the features and functionality added to iOS and watchOS, its still significant. With tvOS 12, we have additions like Dolby Atmos support, Zero Sign-on, brand new aerial space screensavers, and even password autofill. All small yet very important improvements.

Registered developers can download the golden master builds for tvOS 12 and watchOS 5 right now by heading to  developer.apple.com and as we mentioned above, the public will soon get their hands on the final build when it is released later this month.
