Sony announces its Android Pie update plans

Sony has revealed its plans for updating its device portfolio to Android Pie. The manufacturer stated that it plans to release the update in two waves, with the first wave starting in November followed by a second wave of updates in early 2019.

The first wave of smartphones set to receive the update in November include:

• Xperia XZ2
• Xperia XZ2 Premium
• Xperia XZ2 Compact

• Xperia XZ Premium
• Xperia XZ1
• Xperia XZ1 Compact

The second wave of smartphones will receive the Android 9 Pie update in early 2019

• Xperia XA2
• Xperia XA2 Ultra
• Xperia XA2 Plus
