Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ receive August security patch

Samsung is rolling out the August security update for Android to the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ smartphones. Besides bringing the latest security patches, the update also includes improvements to Samsung's Galaxy Launcher app.

Samsung Galaxy S8 receives August security patch in GermanyThe update is currently rolling out to Galaxy S8 handsets in Germany and come with the G950FXXU3CRGH build number. The rollout to other regions to happen in the coming days. When the update is available for your device, you will receive a notification, which you can tap and follow to install the patch.

You can also try manually checking for the update on your device by heading to the Settings menu.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 features a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display, 64GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, a 12MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, Qi Wireless charging, Quick Charge, fingerprint scanner, an Iris scanner, a 3000mAh battery and an octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ features a 6.2 inch Super AMOLED display, up to 128GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, a 12MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, Qi Wireless charging, Quick Charge, fingerprint scanner, an Iris scanner, a 3500mAh battery and an octa-core processor with up to 6GB of RAM.
