Fitbit Charge 3 officially announced

The Fitbit Charge 3 was announced today by the company as "the number one fitness tracker". The Charge 3 improves on its predecessor by including a touchscreen display. However it still doesn't include in-built GPS, and requires a phone for most of its advanced features.

The Fitbit Charge 3 has "an elevated, premium swimproof design," along with more than 15 goal-based exercise modes. The new display is also said to be around 40 percent larger and brighter than its predecessor. The wearable is said to offer up to 7 days of use on a single charge.

The new Charge 3 is also supposedly the first wearable device to feature an inductive button. The addition of a relative SpO2 sensor should allow for the potential to estimate changes in blood oxygen levels and help track new health indicators.

The Fitbit Charge 3 is available for pre-order in the United States and will cost you $149.95. Global availability is said to begin in October. You can purchase the fitness tracker in black with a graphite aluminum case or in blue gray with a rose gold aluminum case.

A Fitbit Charge 3 Special Edition with Fitbit Pay will also be available for purchase for $169.95.
