Alcatel 7 officially announced

The Alcatel 7 is a brand new mid-range Android smartphone, which was recently announced as an exclusive to MetroPCS. It costs $179.99, but can be yours for $129 with a new line or qualified upgrade. You could also get it for free if you port-in credit on an unlimited data plan.

The handset features a 6 inch FHD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It has a modern design with thin bezels and a glossy 2.5D back panel which lets it stands out among other devices in its price class.

Alcatel has outfitted the device with a dual camera setup on the rear, which includes a 12MP main camera paired with a 2MP unit to assist with depth information.
