OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T receive OxygenOS 5.1.4 update


OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 5.1.4 update to both the and handsets. Along with the latest July security patch for Android, the update also includes some sleep/standby optimizations aimed at improving the battery life on both handsets.

Once the update is installed, you can access by sleep/standby optimizations by heading to Settings > Battery > Battery optimizations > Advanced optimizations > Sleep standby optimizations.

One this feature has been activated, the system will intelligently identify your sleep pattern based on your device usage. During specific periods of inactivity, the phone will turn off the network automatically, thus reducing the standby power consumption. If you pick up your device during this time, the phone will reconnect to the network and cancel any restrictions.

Other new features on the update include improved photo clarity, general bug fixes, as well as a brand new Group Messaging.

The update is being rolled out automatically, and you should receive a notification when it is available for your handset within a couple of days.
