Nokia X5 officially announced

Meet the Nokia X5, an affordable Android smartphone built exclusively for the Chinese market by HMD Global. The handset is visually similar to the Nokia X6 which was launched in China a couple of months ago, but presents itself with more modest hardware and price setup.

You still get a similarly sized 5.86 inch HD+ display with a 1520x720 pixel resolution, dual (13MP+5MP) rear cameras, an 8MP front camera, a 3060mAh battery and a MediaTek Helio P60 processor. There is a 32GB model which comes with 3GB of RAM, while the 64GB model includes 4GB of RAM.

The front facing camera includes Nokia's AI enhancements such as a blurred background effect, while the dual camera setup in the rear is capable of producing portrait photos when working together. The rear cameras are coupled with a dual-tone LED flash to help capture detailed photos in low light. Nokia has also included the ability to use both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.

The Nokia X5 will be available in Night Black, Baltic Sea Blue, and Glacier White starting tomorrow in China. The base model will cost around $150, while the higher capacity version will translate to around $210. While an international model has yet to be announced, we expect HMD Global to have one in the works.
