Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge on T-Mobile receives RCS Universal Profile 1.0 support

T-Mobile CTO, Neville Ray has sent out a tweet stating that the carrier has started rolling out the GSMA Universal Profile 1.0 update for its network. With this update, subscribers will be able to participate in group chats of up to 100 people and transfer files of up to 100MB in size over text.

Previously, Sprint was the only U.S. carrier to support this next generation of text messaging, thanks to Google Jibe. With this announcement for T-Mobile, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will become the first two handsets form the carrier to offer GSMA Universal Profile 1.0 technology. This feature will be included Android 8.0 Update for both handsets. T-Mobile also plans on pushing out the update to more devices "over time."
