Fortnite for iOS available on App Store, but requires invite

After being teased last week, Fortnite Battle Royale for iOS is now available to download. Unfortunately, in order to play the game on your iPhone or iPad, you will need an invite from a friend or Epic Games.

On the App Store, Fortnite is marked as an "Invite Event," which means that even after downloading the app, you will need your account to be approved by Epic Games before you can access the game.

In order to play the game you will need an iPhone SE/6S or newer, or an iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 or newer or an iPad mini. You will also need to be running iOS 11 and have 2GB of free space. You will also need a constant internet connection to keep playing.

How to signup for a Fortnite for iOS invite

You can signup to get an invite to play Fortnite on iOS by heading to the Fortnite website. Click on the “Sign up for Email Invite” option and you will be asked if you already play Fortnite. If so, Epic Games can add you to the list and find your progress and purchases from other devices after you log in.

If you haven't already played on another platform, simply create an account and join the waitlist to play Fortnight on iOS. You can pick your primary device you will be playing on before being added to the waitlist.

Alternately, if one of your friend who are playing Fortnite has already received an invite, they can send you one and let you jump the line on the waitlist.

Once you've been accepted, you will get an email from Epic Games, and you can activate your account to access Fortnite for iOS. Epic Games says it will continue to rollout additional invites as servers are upgraded to handle more users, but it’s unclear at what pace that will be or when the game will be open to everyone.
