Amazon Fire Phone with One Year of Prime offered for $159

The Amazon Fire Phone is an interesting device, offering users access into Android while keeping them tightly rooted in Amazon's own ecosystem. The handset is usually prized at $650 unlocked, but the online retailer has previously offered their flagship smartphone for as low as $199. Now Amazon is offering the Fire Phone for only $159, which also includes one year of free access to Amazon Prime.

Amazon Prime is a yearly subscription, which usually costs $99 annually. An Amazon Prime subscription will give you the advantage of free two-day shipping (for eligible purchases), unlimited streaming of movies and TV shows with Prime Instant Video, and the ability to borrow books from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. You can learn more about Amazon Prime here.

The Amazon Fire Phone features a 4.7 inch 720p HD touch display, up to 64GB of internal storage, a 13MP rear camera, a 2.1MP front camera and a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM. While these are decent specs, they dont compare with newer devices like the Apple iPhone 6 or the Samsung Galaxy S6.

The underlying platform has been heavily customized by Amazon's own Fire OS with a unique Dynamic Perspective sensor system for its interface. Besides a lineup of Amazon's apps and services, the Fire Phone also features Firefly, which recognizes over a 100 million objects - from songs, through dishwasher soaps, to phone numbers on a poster, and find them at the lowest price, or throw more info about them at you.
