Windows Insider Preview users will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 RTM for free

The launch of Windows 10 is fast approaching, and the Windows Insiders who have helped Microsoft shape up the future of Windows are eager to know what will become of the Insider programme once Windows 10 is released. Gabriel Aul, Head of the Windows Insider program has confirmed on Twitter that Windows Insiders will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 RTM (Release to manufacturing) for free when it is released.

Gabe Aul, however has confirmed on Twitter that upgrading will need a valid license for Windows 7 or Windows 8.
Microsoft has previously announced that are going to offer free upgrades to Windows 10 for qualified new and existing Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 customers for the first year after Windows 10 launches.

Now PC experts, IT pros, and developers from around the world who helped Microsoft in fine tuning the Windows 10 OS can be assured that upgrading to the RTM version will be free and seamless from within the Windows 10 Preview.

Currently, there is no information on when the Windows will reach RTM. Reports suggests that software giant is planning to release the Windows 10 OS to OEM vendors sometime in the month of June, to make machines with the new OS available just in time for the back to school season.
