WhatsApp for Windows Phone beta updated with voice calling featureWhatsApp for Windows Phone beta has been updated to version 2.12.38 which finally brings the highly anticipated voice calling functionality to the Windows Phone platform.

You will have to be enrolled in the WhatsApp beta program in order to enable WhatsApp calling. The updated app will bring a new Call Tab that keeps a track of the recent call history, including the incoming, outgoing and missed calls.

WhatsApp calling is is already available on Android, iOS, Blackberry and Tizen, giving users the ability to do voice calls with their contacts utilizing data instead of cellular minutes. Now WhatsApp beta users with Windows Phone handsets can also join in.

There's no word on exactly when the full Voice Calling feature will be rolled out to public users of WhatsApp on Windows Phone. Seeing as it now only spreading out to the beta group it is safe to say we are likely a few weeks out before things are finalized.
