Sharp AQUOS Crystal 2 officially unveiled with bezel-less display

The Sharp AQUOS Crystal 2 was officially unveiled today by the company, as the successor to the Sharp AQUOS Crystal. Just like its predecessor, it too features a bezel-less display, allowing the user to take advantage of the entire display area.

The Sharp AQUOS Crystal 2 features a 5.2 inch display, 16GB of internal storage, an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front camera, a 2030mAh battery and a 1.2Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 306 graphics and 2GB of RAM. The device also offers 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC connectivity.

The Sharp AQUOS Crystal 2 will be available in white, black, pink and turquoise some time at the end of July, in Japan. The unit will once again be water and dust resistant. It measures 11mm thick and weighs 154 grams. Because of the bezel-less display, the front-facing camera is located below the screen, and the earphone speaker is replaced with the same bone conducting technology used on the original version of the phone.

Pricing and availability are unknown at this time. While Sprint and Boost Mobile offered the original model in the U.S., it is not yet known if they plan to offer the Sharp AQUOS Crystal 2.
