Samsung has announced that it's bringing its latest tablets, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, to the US. Both tablet will be launched on May 1, with pre-orders available as of today, April 20.

Customers will be able to purchase the new tablets from Amazon, Best Buy, HH Gregg and other locations. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is priced at $229.99, while the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is a bit more expensive, costing $299.99. You can choose between three color versions: Smoky Blue, Smoky Titanium, and White. Starting May 17, customers will be able to get a Galaxy Tab A 9.7 with S Pen. This will be more expensive than the regular version of the slate, costing $349.99.

Both the Tab A 8.0 and Tab A 9.7 have a lot in common, including displays with 768 x 1024 pixel resolutions and 4:3 aspect ratios. You also get 5MP rear cameras, 2MP front cameras, 16GB of expandable storage and quad-core Snapdragon 410 processors with up to 2GB of RAM. Both tablets run Android 5.0 Lollipop which is a welcome addition. Moreover, the devices come with Microsoft Office for Android, and 100 GB of free storage space on OneDrive for 2 years. The 9.7 inch Galaxy Tab A features a 6000mAh battery, while the 8.0 inch Galaxy Tab A has a smaller 4200mAh battery.
