Microsoft updates Office Touch for Windows 10 Preview apps

Back in February, Microsoft released a modern, touch-friendly version of the Universal Office for Windows 10, which include preview versions of Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Now Microsoft has released updated versions of these apps ahead of their annual BUILD 2015 conference.

The BUILD conference is set to take place on April 29, in San Francisco, where the company is expected to reveal details about Windows 10 development, HoloLens, Xbox One, IoT, and more.

The updated Office Touch apps don't come with a changelog, indicating that the update is a minor one, and likely aims to fix bugs and improve performance of these apps.

These “universal” Office apps are designed from the ground up and are optimized to offer a consistent, touch-first experience across phone, tablet, PC and Microsoft Surface Hub. In order to use these apps, you have to sign up as a Windows Insider and install the latest version of Windows 10 Technical Preview.
