The LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition (GPe) is now being updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop, after receiving the Android 5.0 update in late 2014. Although Android 5.1 Lollipop is not a major update over the 5.0 version of Android, the improvements include some small but useful bug fixes and improvements to Lollipop, including the ability to join Wi-Fi networks and pair Bluetooth devices from the Quick Settings panel, new animations, detailed Interruptions settings, and a new Device Protection system.
As with all Android updates, Android 5.1 will be rolled out in stages, so it may be a couple of days before you receive the OTA notification to download the update on your device. The update is quite large measuring 203MB, so make sure you have a strong internet connection before initiating the download. You can also consider manually downloading the update and flashing it to your device by following the source line below.
