The Asus ZenFone 2 was recently unveiled as the first smartphone to feature 4GB of RAM. This was followed by the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, which also offers 4GB of RAM. Now Lenovo has joined the club by announcing their own 4GB Android smartphone.

The handset is called the Lenovo K80, and it aims to directly compete with devices like the Asus ZenFone 2 by offering a similar price and features. Besides offering 4GB of RAM, the Lenovo K80 features a 5.5 inch 1080p HD display, 13MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization, a very generous 4000mAh battery and a 64-bit 1.8GHz Intel Atom processor. The Lenovo K80 is 8.5mm-thin, and comes in various color variants, including black, silver, and red.

The Lenovo K80 will be available in China for 1,799 CNY ($290) starting April. A model with only 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space will also be released (for 1,499 CNY - around $240). Its not known if Lenovo plans to release their K80 to other markets.
