HTC One M8 for AT&T receives Android 5.0 Lollipop

HTC One M8 for AT&T receives Android 5.0 LollipopHTC received technical approval for the Android Lollipop update as scheduled, and now AT&T customers owning the HTC One M8 are set to receive the latest version of Android. With Lollipop your handset will receive a new notifications feature for the lock screen, the new "Recent Apps" menu, the Lollipop Material Design, the 64-bit ART compiler (making your apps load faster), Project Volta for better battery life and more.

According to HTC's Mo Versi, the update will start being pushed out to HTC One M8 customers on AT&T after 10.00AM Pacific Time on Tuesday (April 7th)

The update is being pushed out OTA (over the air) and you should receive a notification when it is available for your handset. Keep in mind that the update is being rolled out in stages, so it may be a few days before it is available for download. You can try manually checking for the update under Settings > System Update > Check New. However, since AT&T only allows update queries to be made once every 24 hours, its best you wait until the given time.

AT&T customers are advised to connect to Wi-Fi when downloading and installing the update. They are also advised to make sure their batteries are appropriately (at least 50%) charged before installing the update on your device.
