Apple iTunes 12.1.2 released for Mac and Windows

Apple iTunes 12.1.2 released for Mac and WindowsApple has had a busy week, having pushed the OS X 10.10.3 update with the long-awaited Photos app and the iOS 8.3 update which focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements. However, the company has also made time to release an updated version of iTunes.

Both the Windows and Mac OS versions of iTunes have been updated to version 12.1.2 which brings improvements to support the aforementioned updates.

For example, iOS users can now sync their photo libraries via the all-new Photos app - if you're on OS X - which has displaced iPhoto and Aperture as Apple’s main image-sorting / editing application. Previously iTunes supported the syncing of iPhoto libraries with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices, but now with Photos taking its place, iTunes 12.1.2 ensures that you can continue from where you left out.

Aside from the Photos tweaks, the update also promises "several refinements to the Get Info window," while general stability has also been improved with the update.

You can download iTunes for Mac OS directly on your device by opening Software Update by clicking the Apple icon. If you own a Windows PC, you can run Apple Software Update from your Start Screen (menu) or by using the following link

Its important to note that while the iTunes 12.1.2 update has been released on both Mac and Windows, the Photos app refinements only apply to Mac users. If you happen to come across any new features which have not been mentioned in the changelog, feel free to leave us a comment and let us know.
