ZTE Grand S3 officially announced

The ZTE Grand S3 is an Android smartphone announced at MWC 2015, and is unique for offering eye-based biometric solution from EyeVerify. The technology called Eyeprint ID allows users a password-free method of unlocking the ZTE Grand S3, offering an improved level of privacy and security to the device.

You can access eye scanner by swiping down from the lockscreen you'll need to place the phone in front of your face so that both eyes appear in the box. It takes about 5 seconds from swiping down on the screen to unlock the Grand S3. According to ZTE, this feature will only work with a real life person and can identify and ignore a photo or a video. Besides that, the ZTE Grand S3 features a 5.5 inch display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 16MP rear camera, a generous 8MP front camera for selfies, a 3100mAh battery and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 graphics and 3GB of RAM.

The ZTE Grand S3 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed and be launching in China for CNY 2999. International availability is unknown at this time.
