HTC One M8 for Verizon receives Android 5.0 Lollipop

HTC One M8 for Verizon receives Android 5.0 LollipopThe HTC One M8 for Verizon is now receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. With Lollipop your handset will receive a new notifications feature for the lock screen, the new "Recent Apps" menu, the Lollipop Material Design, the 64-bit ART compiler (making your apps load faster), Project Volta for better battery life and more.

While Verizon subscribers may feel that they have waited the longest for this update, the HTC One (M8) for AT&T received Android 4.4.4 on January 19th which means it could be some time before Lollipop is released by the carrier.

The update is being pushed out OTA (over the air) and you should receive a notification when it is available for your handset. Keep in mind that the update is being rolled out in stages, so it may be a few days before it is available for download. You can try manually checking for the update under Settings > System Update > Check New.

Verizon customers are advised to connect to Wi-Fi when downloading and installing the update. They are also advised to make sure their batteries are appropriately (at least 50%) charged before installing the update on your device.
