Alcatel OneTouch IDOL 3

Alcatel has announced its newest flagship smartphone at the Mobile World Congress, the Alcatel OneTouch IDOL 3. The handset is available in two screen sizes, one with a 4.7 inch display, while the other has a 5.5 inch display - two sizes iPhone users may be familiar with.

It case you didn't recognize the sizes, they mirror the Apple iPhone 6 and the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, which were offered in the same size options. However Alcatel is taking it a step further, by outfitting the IDOL 3 with JBL front-facing speakers, Harman Kardon Clari-Fi tech, and the unique ability of being able to use the device upside-down. The lack of hardware buttons and the layout of the speakers allows this advantage for the IDOL 3, and it can be a real time saver for those time you reach for your phone in a hurry.

The 4.7 inch IDOL 3 model has a 720p resolution display and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, while the 5.5 inch IDOL 3 has a 1080p display and is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor.

Besides these differences, both handsets are nearly identical with 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, 4G LTE connectivity, 13-megapixel cameras and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The 13MP camera sensor large aperture for low light, while the front snapper has a wide 84-degree angle for selfies and Fast Face Focus software that detects faces in 0.26 seconds.

Unfortunately, Alcatel did not reveal the pricing or availability of there new flagships.
