New Motorola Moto E announced, with Android Lollipop and LTE for just $149

Motorola has unveiled its second-generation Motorola Moto E, the successor to the affordable Motorola Moto E, which comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop and LTE connectivity on board.

Actually the new model is available in both 3G and 4G LTE variants. Both handsets are powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm processors, but the LTE model comes with a Snapdragon 410 chip, while the 3G model features a Snapdragon 200 chip.

Other specs include a 4.5 inch display with a 540 x 960 pixel resolution, a 5MP rear camera with 720p video capture, a secondary VGA camera for video calls and selfies, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded by an additional 32GB of microSD, and a 2390 mAh battery that's "designed to last all day".

The Motorola Moto E will be available in black or white, but you can choose to customize the smartphone with colorful Grip Shells, or Motorola Bands - these are patented bands that "feature a unique ridged pattern which provides an even better grip."

Motorola says that, "starting today", the second-generation Moto E is coming to more than 50 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Those in the US can purchase the new Moto E on Motorola's official website. The handset will also be launched by Verizon (sometime soon).

Prices for the handset start at only $119.99 (3G model) and $149.99 (LTE model). Motorola has also launched a brand new website to promote the second-gen Moto E.
