Motorola Moto X (2014) for Verizon and AT&T receive Soak Tests

Motorola Moto X (2014)Motorola is sending out Soak Test invites to Verizon customers have registered their second generation Motorola Moto X in the Motorola Feedback Network. Its very likely that the build that is being tested is Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Interesting, Verizon posted the availability of the Lollipop update along with a detailed changelog of the new features for the Moto X way back in November 2014.

Moto X soak test inviteLast week Motorola sent out similar invites for the Motorola Moto X Pure Edition and the second-generation Motorola Moto G.

But the first generation Moto X is still facing delays in receiving Lollipop due to issues with its processor.

Motorola handset owners can head over and register on the Motorola Feedback Network if they want to join in on future Soak Tests. This process is where Motorola employs a select group from the Network to test a software update by sending it out at first to a small number of handsets. If things go as planned, Motorola then disseminates it to all owners of a particular model. By keeping the Soak Test small, Motorola is able to keep a better handle on things; the Soak Test also limits the manufacturer's exposure in case the update bricks some phones.

To be eligible to participate in a Soak Test, you must register with the Motorola Feedback Network. You also need to promise that you won't leak information about the test to anyone.

[UPDATE] AT&T customers who own the Motorola Moto X (2014) are also reportedly receiving invites to partake in a soak test.
