HTC One M8 for Sprint receives Android 5.0 Lollipop

HTC One M8 It looks like a good day to be a Sprint customer. After reportedly pushing out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the HTC One (M7) and the Samsung Galaxy S5, The carrier has posted an HTC One M8 support page that says the HTC One M8 is set to get the latest version of Android via an over-the-air update today.

[UPDATE] While the carrier initially hoped to push out the update last week, it looks like the latest version of Android is arriving on Sprint's HTC One M8 only today.

The update, which is reportedly 713.98MB in size brings Android 5.0.2 along with the 4.20.651.10 software version. The new features and improvements from Lollipop include the new lockscreen with notifications, updated recent apps, Project Volta with improved battery life and the new notification shade. Additionally Sprint is also removing the Lumen Toolbar according to the changelog.

The update is being pushed out OTA (over-the-air) but in stages, so it maybe a few days before its available for your device. In any case you can try manually checking for the update under Settings on your device. Once you do receive the OTA notification, it is recommended that you connect to WiFi to download the update and make sure your battery is appropriately charged.
