First alleged Windows 10 for phones screenshots surface

Windows 10 for phonesMicrosoft is working on Windows 10 for phones alongside Windows 10 and is expected to release a Technical Preview so that testers can provide feedback on the enhancements. Now we can get an early look at Windows 10 for phones  as some alleged screenshots of the Technical Preview have appeared on Twitter.

The screenshots show the new Action Center, revamped settings page and the build number 8.15.12493.42 of the preview OS. The updated Action Center now includes an expanded list of toggles extended  up to three rows. The Settings page has also been updated and is more organized and grouped for easy access.

More Windows 10 for Phones screenshots leaked

[UPDATE] [02/06/2015] More alleged screenshots of Windows 10 for Phones have leaked onto web providing a closer look at the upcoming OS. The screenshots reveals overhauled user interface, new homescreen, new keyboard, voice recording app, new alarm app, app menu, file manager, settings panel and much more.

1) The new Start Screen includes a background image and transparent tiles. Swiping to the right shows the app list, which is also transparent and shows the background. The app list is also better organized with most recent apps shown on the top.



2) The application list now provides a cleaner overview, and it looks like the visibility of the background image can be changed. It also shows a new File manager (likely a universal app) built into Windows 10 for phones.





3) Next we see the updated keyboard which includes voice input on all input screens and single handed mode for large screen devices.



4) A new audio recording app, which allows you to quickly record and share voice input



5) The Alarm app has been updated to a universal app to match the Windows 10 version.



6) The lockscreen Settings page shows some improvements, including a preview of the lockscreen image and an advanced Settings for the lockscreen



7) An updated universal Xbox Video app



8) A new dialer with a compact Layout and a new double height tile, similar to the one on Windows for desktop.



Windows 10 for phones is expected to arrive sometime this month in the form of a Technical Preview. However a tweet from Gabriel Aul, maybe suggesting that not all Windows Phone 8 handsets will receive the first preview of Windows 10 for phones. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think about these newly leaked screenshots.
