Apple schedules an event on March 9 in San Francisco; likely Apple Watch announcement

Apple schedules an event on March 9

Apple is sending out invitations to an event which will take place on March 9 in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater. The event is titled "Spring forward," in reference to Daylight Savings Time which begins the day before.

The reference to time could indicate that the event will focus around the Apple Watch. The venue has been home to other big unveiling by the tech giant, including new versions of the Apple iPhone and the Apple iPad.

The Apple Watch was first unveiled back in September, alongside the Apple iPhone 6 and the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Since then Apple has been hard at work readying its wearable for primetime, and has even released iOS 8.2 to developers in preparation of its launch. While Apple has not given an exact launch date for the Apple Watch, CEO Tim Cook has indicated that it won't ship before April. Additionally, Apple Store employees are reportedly being trained for the release of the wearable.

During the event, we will likely get an update on the status of this device. It is not known if Apple has managed to get the Apple Watch ready before the predicted April launch date, but we will likely learn more very soon.
