Besides unveiling two high end phablets, and a premium headphones for audiophiles, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi also unveiled the Xiaomi Mi Box mini IP STB streamer, as a direct competitor to the Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV and Roku 3.

The Xiaomi Mi Box Mini is actually the smallest device of its class, designed as a small cube the size of a cellphone charger that you can plug directly in the outlet, and can even carry in your pocket while on the go. Inside the device is 4GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi 802.11n, low-power Bluetooth 4.0, Dolby, DTS audio, and a 1.3GHz quad-core MTK8685A Cortex-A7 processor with 1GB of RAM.

The Mi Box mini even comes with its own Bluetooth remote control unit, which can control other Bluetooth gear lying around the house. The cube also has an HDMI-out port and a cable in the box to connect to your TV. Best of all, it supports the next-gen h.265 streaming container, for up to 50% streaming bandwidth reduction, ensuring flawless 1080p streaming.

For a price of only $32, this portable set-top box, plus it comes with a foldable wall plug, and in a variety of candy colors to suit every taste. You can preorder the Mi Box mini starting next Tuesday, January 20th, and orders will commence shipping a week after, on January 27th.
