Motorola returns to the Chinese market with new smartphones

Motorola is making a return to the world’s biggest phone market: China, with a focused lineup of three devices: the Moto X Pro ( a rebranded Nexus 6), the Moto X, and the Moto G.

China is the world’s most populous nation, and has also become the world’s biggest-scale phone market in recent years. Presence in China has been one of the highlights of all phone makers, and Apple in particular has been very successful with a recently inked deal with China Mobile, the world’s biggest carrier with over 760 million subscribers. Motorola’s presence there would be key to the company’s growth.

With the introduction of the three new devices, Motorola has ensured that they have covered all requirements - a large screened phablet, a regular-sized flagship phone, and an affordable device with 4G LTE.

The Moto X Pro is a near identical copy of the Google Nexus 6. It features a 6 inch QHD display, 32GB of internal storage, a 13MP rear camera with OIS, a 3200mAh battery, front-facing stereo speakers and a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor with 3GB of RAM.

The Moto X features a 5.2 inch display, up to 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 13MP rear camera, a 2 megapixel front camera and a customized Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM.

The Moto G features a 5.0 inch display, up to 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front camera and a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM.

The Moto G will be the first to arrive to market in early February, while the other two devices will come in late February, just after the Chinese New Year.
