Microsoft unveils Windows Holographic and Microsoft HoloLens

Windows Holographic

Virtual reality seems to be the next front for the tech world, with Facebook purchase of Oculus. Despite the seemingly fading hype around Google Glass, Microsoft has also decided to venture into the world of virtual reality. During the 'Windows 10: The Next Chapter' event, the software giant unveiled Windows Holographic alongwith the Microsoft HoloLens headgear.

Windows Holographic is a software platform built around Windows 10, which brings our surrounds to life with holograms. You interact with these holograms through the Microsoft HoloLens.

Microsoft HoloLens

The HoloLens is a virtual reality headgear, which has its own CPU, GPU and a third holographic processor.  It uses spacial sound technology for holographic processing and is able to understand what you are looking at, understand your voice, and run without any wires, processing terabytes of information in real time. HoloLens can be used for entertainment, education or research. The possibilities are essentially endless.

With HoloLens and Windows Holographic, Microsoft is looking to  truly bridge the gap between the virtual and physical worlds, this is arguably more exciting than Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR and Google Glass.
