HTC One M8 receives Android 5.0 Lollipop with Sense UI

HTC One M8The HTC One M8, the company's flagship smartphone is now receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop software update, which includes the updated version of the company's Sense UI.

The update is currently rolling out to the international variant, but its a good indication of a wider

Android 5.0.1 for HTC One M8Users should get an OTA notification when the update is available for their handsets, but they can try manually checking for the update under Settings > Software updates. If you don't receive the OTA notification immediately, don't worry, as the update should arrive in a few days.

The Lollipop update for the HTC One M8 is quite large in size, weighing a hefty 780MB, so users are advised to ensure their battery is fully charged and that they are connected to Wi-Fi before initiating it.

Besides bringing Android 5.0.1, the notable new features include, the revamped notification drawer/quick toggle settings and the recent tasks switcher, which have been inspired by the Material Design guidelines. While Lollipop brings several enhancements to KitKat, the majority of these are performance related, like the ART runtime and the improved battery saver. HTC doesn't seem to have made much of a visual change to their Sense UI, which is not a bad thing at all.
