Official Dropbox for Windows Phone app released

Dropbox for Windows

After releasing a native Windows 8/Windows RT app nearly two years ago, the Dropbox team has finally released Dropbox for Windows Phone. Dropbox for Windows Phone is a popular cross-platform cloud storage service which offers automatic photo backups, offline access to your favorite files, and multi-account support for people who have a separate work and personal account to maintain on a single device.

Dropbox for Windows has also been updated, making it a universal app across phones, tablets and PCs. The app lets you access your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. All saved files can be accessed from all of your computers, phones, tablets, and on the web.

You can download the universal apps directly on your device through the app stores or by using the following links:

Dropbox for Windows has the following features:
  • Access your photos, docs, and videos from any device
  • Auto upload for Camera roll
  • Offline access for files marked favorite
  • Option to sort files
  • Set security password
  • 2 GB of free space when you sign up
  • Share even your biggest files with a simple link — no more attachments!
  • Add files to your “Favorites” for fast, offline viewing
While there are several third-party Dropbox clients on the Windows Phone store, its a good sign seeing official apps offered by developers. With the official announcement of Windows 10 yesterday along with universal Windows app, we hope more developers will consider porting their offering over to the Windows platform.
