AT&T plans to offer both the
BlackBerry Passport and the
BlackBerry Classic on its network. The Passport has been available for purchase (unlocked) since last year, but AT&T claims that they will be offering a redesigned variant of BlackBerry's flagship smartphone.
The original Passport has some sharp edges, so AT&T has gotten BlackBerry to soften the edges and make the Passport easier to handle. Besides the design, the handset features a 4.5 inch display with a 1440 x 1440 pixel resolution, QWERTY keyboard, 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 13MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera, a 3450mAh battery and a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM.
AT&T will be offering the Passport for $199.99 on contract, or $649.99 with no annual commitment. Additionally, you'll be able to get the handset for $0 down on AT&T’s Next plans (starting at $21.67 per month).
Besides the Passport, AT&T is also offering the BlackBerry Classic, which is priced at $49.99 on contract, or $419.99 with no annual commitment. The BlackBerry Classic features a 3.5 inch display, QWERTY keyboard, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera, a 2515mAh battery and a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor with 2GB of RAM.
