Windows 10 release expected in late summer or early fall 2015

Microsoft first announced Windows 10 back in September, and said that the new version of the OS will launch sometime in late 2015.This week, Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner provided more details on the matter.

According to Mr. Turner, Microsoft plans to have a developer preview ready in “early summer.” Then, by “late summer and early fall”, Microsoft should have a Windows 10 release for all users. While its likely these plans will change, we will keep our readers updated as we hear more.

With Windows 10, Microsoft will have one platform working across all types of devices including PCs, phones and tablets. Microsoft is reportedly internally testing a version of Windows 10 for phones and have confirmed that all Windows Phone 8 (Lumia) devices will receive the Windows 10 update at launch.

The Windows 10 for phones SKU will reportedly be showcased by Microsoft in late January 2015 and is expected to work on both phones and tablets.
