Softcard is a joint mobile payment system offered through Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. The service has been available for Android devices for some time, but was recently made available for Windows Phones as well. Last month, the
HTC One M8 for Windows received support for the payment system. Now, the
release of the Lumia Denim update, the
Lumia 928 and the
Lumia 822 are also expected to gain Softcard support.

Softcard requires a phone with NFC, a special secure SIM card, and the Softcard app. To pay using Softcard, you open the app and enter your PIN number. Select which card you want to use, and then tap the terminal with your phone to make the payment. Softcard welcomes cards from American Express, Chase and Wells Fargo. With over 200,000 retail locations currently accepting Softcard, the mobile payment system makes checking out quick and easy.
