New third party keyboard arrive on iOS 8

Apple is bringing several enhancements to their mobile platform with the release of iOS 8.0, and some of those enhancements are in the keyboard department. Not only with iOS 8 feature a new QuickType keyboard, but it will also make it  will also offer a developers to bring third-party keyboards to the platform for the first time.

Several of these third-party keyboard have been available on Android for some time now, and they are now making their debut on iOS, after a period of time undergoing beta testing.

Swype

After making a name for itself on Android, the popular Swype keyboard is now available as a third party keyboard for iOS 8.  Swype promises to make it faster and easier to type words by letting you quickly swipe your fingers through the keys. Swype will even learn the way you type so it gets smarter as you use it.


SwiftKey

SwiftKey is also joining the iOS 8 keyboard race today, but with one major difference: it will be free. You can sign up to be notified when it's released, or follow the company on its social media channels. While you're waiting for it to arrive on the App Store, you can watch a demo video of SwiftKey in action (if you can get through the slo-mo sports clips, that is).

Fleksy

Fleksy claims that it is officially the fastest keyboard in the world and it is now available for iOS 8. The keyboard offers gestures for more natural typing, the ability to resize for more screen real estate and the ability to customize with themes. You can download Fleksy for iOS at $0.99 from the Apple App Store today.


TouchPal

TouchPal claims it is the first keyboard on iOS 8 to offer gesture/swipe input. TouchPal for iOS offers sliding input, keyboard themes, Emoji and amazing speed. TouchPal for iOS is available as a free download for the iPhone or iPad starting today.


Minuum

Minuum is a third party keyboard for iOS 8 and is known as the little keyboard for big fingers. It promises to let you type faster, see more of your screen and take control of autocorrect. Minuum can be switched from the regular QWERTY keyboard to a smaller mini mode, so users can see more of their iOS screens.
